Liquid adhesives
Through physical change or chemical reaction, a liquid adhesive applied between two substrates forms a solid material that bonds the substrates together. Liquid adhesives are available in a variety of formats, providing manufacturers with the opportunity to offer customers a liquid adhesive suited to meet various specifications.
Two-component adhesives
In a two-component reactive adhesive, component A is mixed with component B; the resulting chemical reaction allows for the final bonding.
Single-component adhesives
Single-component reactive adhesives contain a single component that reacts chemically, most commonly when exposed to heat, light or moisture.
Hot melt adhesives
Hot melt adhesives are solid at room temperature but are first melted to be applied in a liquid state. When the adhesive returns to room temperature, it solidifies again, creating a bond.
Reactive polyurethane (PUR) hot melt adhesives
Reactive hot melt adhesives have properties unique to both hot melt adhesives and single-component reactive adhesives.
Solvent-based and water-based adhesives
Water-based and solvent-based adhesives use a liquid carrier (solvent or water) to apply the adhesive to substrates: the carrier evaporates and the adhesive remains. They are available in tubes, drums and spray cans.
