Jet Melt adhesive system
3M Hot Melt adhesives are easy-to-use hot melt adhesives used for quick bonding on a variety of materials, from wood to polystyrene, from potting for electronics to fixing circuit boards using the new 3M professional applicators.
The 3M Hot Melt system is the easiest and simplest way to instantly bond dissimilar materials in a single step, thanks to convenient and easy-to-handle applicators.
The Hot Melt line allows for strong bonding, even with excellent filling results, on a variety of materials, from the most difficult plastics and those containing plasticizers, to wood, glass, and lightweight materials such as paper, cardboard, and polystyrene.
The versatility of the Hot Melt line of hot glues is also widely recognized in the electrical and food, microelectronics, and packaging industries. Solvent-free, they are therefore recommended as safe and environmentally friendly. Here are the most commonly used:
3M Hot Melt Adhesive 3789 is a polyamide adhesive formulated to produce an impact-, fuel-, and oil-resistant bond for applications on plastics, vinyl, wood, and other surfaces. Made from a 100% solids thermoplastic resin, it also offers good heat resistance (220°F/104°C) and a long exposure time that allows for adjustment and positioning.
3M Hot Melt Adhesive 3738 is a clear, multipurpose adhesive for effectively bonding wood, light metals, and some plastics in furniture, upholstery, and woodworking applications. Its excellent electrical properties offer an ideal solution for electrical applications. It features excellent low-temperature thermal shock properties for optimal long-term adhesion. Good heat resistance provides durability through fluctuating temperatures.
3M Hot Melt Adhesive 3748 VO is a 100% solids thermoplastic universal adhesive. A self-extinguishing adhesive that does not burn once the ignition source is removed, it offers good electrical and thermal properties for printed wiring boards and other applications. It is also shock-resistant, making it useful for parts subject to vibration or other movement.
