tesa® 7140 PV3 consists of a laminate of PVC film with a PET film. It combines the most important characteristics of both materials: the PVC film ensures high paint adhesion to the substrate and increases the flexibility of the tape, while the PET layer provides high tensile strength. These properties are important in the automotive industry, as they allow the window flange area to be masked before painting, eliminating the need for preparatory surface treatments (such as primer) during window glass application. Instead, the window glass can be fixed directly onto the electro-painted window flange area.
Its resistance to high temperatures, up to 170 °C, ensures that the tape is effective even during oven drying processes. tesa® 7140 PV3 can be applied manually, semi-manually (manual applicators) and automatically (Enimac robot dispensers).
