3M VHB Silane Glass Adhesion Promoter Ready-to-use moisture treatment for glass. Due to the hydrophilic nature of glass, the bonding of VHB double-sided tapes may be ineffective due to possible moisture penetration between the glass and the VHB tape. This causes a weakening of the adhesion resulting in detachment of the double-sided tape.

VHB Glass Silane is an adhesion promoter that serves to prepare the glass prior to the application of the double-sided adhesive tape VHB is a transparent product, but can become opaque if too much is applied. If there is excess primer (liquid), simply wipe it off with a dry cloth; if it is already dry, it must be removed with the VHB cleaber.

To combat this effect in these types of applications, the use of a silane primer to prepare the glass is essential.
